Commission Information for Collectors

Thank you for considering me to paint your next work of art.

This page is designed to give you an overview of my commission process.

The Process Begins…

Please read the information below, it is a guide to my commission process. To proceed please contact me via the CONTACT page.

Deposits

All commissions require a 50% deposit before the painting process begins. This deposit does not include packaging or shipping, or storage fees. This is calculated at checkout with your final payment when your commissioned painting is completed. Please note that your painting will not ship until the final payment has cleared. At checkout double check your shipping address. I am not responsible for paintings shipped to an incorrect address or lost due to an incorrectly typed address. Pick-ups at my studio are always welcome.

All sales are final and coupon codes do not apply.

Composition

Once your deposit is made we will discuss the composition you want painted. I will do my best accommodate your vision. If there are paintings of mine you see on my website that you love, let me know. Being an semi-abstract contemporary landscape painter there will inherently be personal interpretation of landscape features.

I generally produce two watercolor, ink or graphite sketches from which you can choose your desired composition. These will be emailed to you. The colors provided in the sketch will not necessarily resemble the colors chosen for your painting. Once one is chosen I will start the painting.

Color palettes suggested by the collector will be taken into consideration, but ultimately my commissioned paintings are treated as all my personal projects- the color choices are improvisational and evolve as I paint, artistic freedom must be allowed and understood. I do not color match, but try to stay true to a collector’s vision. I do post progress images to my website for you to view, but ultimately it’s up to you to communicate what is working and what is not. I will not change a painting once it’s complete.

Pricing

All commissioned paintings are priced according to size. My canvases are a 4:5 ratio, painted on gallery wrapped 1.5” cotton canvases. Paintings are signed, titled and dated on the back, and come with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Please CONTACT me for pricing structure.

Final payment is due within 30 days of the completion email or text. I can store your painting for up to 60 days, after that time I will have to charge a storage fee, $15 per week, as my studio is small with limited space.

Framing is the responibility of the collector. I am happy to help you find the right professional framing business in your area. Framing needs to be done right.

Timeline and Shipping

Painting commissions take about +/- 1 month to complete, many finish much sooner, and some do not. My painting schedule fills up quickly with art shows, gallery submissions and other commissioned paintings. If there is a strict timeline, please let me know and we can plan accordingly.

One month drying time is standard after the completion of your painting to ship safely.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and includes the packaging, shipping and insurance. If there are special shipping requirements or have international shipping questions please contact me.
